During President Obama's State of the Union Address, he covered many key points. Some new topics, and others old. He didn't cover too much of problems that are already on going in the media such as health care, social security, or immigration. The only thing he really mentioned was that if congress put the bill on his desk today he would sign it. The main thing our president talked about was new job reform. He was saying how he would like to create more jobs in the united states by bringing manufacturers from other countries to the U.S. Such as companies from China, Taiwan, etc. To bring them to the U.S to create more jobs and basically cut out the middle man so we save money. He also talked about maintaining a strong military even during the budget cuts which he expect to be around 5 billion dollars. He kept saying the words "economic reform" but he' been saying that for a while and there seems to be no reform going on.
The speech was hard for me to follow, in my opinion it was EXTREMELY boring and Irrelevant to my views of the government. President Obama's points didn't really spark my interest, he doesn't seem to be much for our country. I guess that isn't entirely his fault, like he said if congress put the bills in front of him he would sign them. It just seems to me that there could be something he could do in the mean time. It shocked me that he didn't really touch points of immigration, i was a little disappointed i thought he would have an idea of a solution since this is such an on-going problem. All in all i didn't find the speech to be memorable or any means of that sort.
